I'll be 30 this year. Although, when I was asked not long ago how old I was, I promptly answered 26. Then I had to correct myself because I was obviously a few years behind.
This is a great time to accomplish some goals that I've been putting off. On my last birthday, David asked if there was anything in particular I'd like to do this year. I didn't really have an answer.

While much of my time is spent taking care of my sweet little ones, which I love, I've been guilty of forgetting about myself. Surely there is a balance.
So I'm determined to make some goals this year for me.
We encourage our kids to "do hard things", to not just take the easy road or do what's comfortable. But sometimes it's hard to take my own advice.
I've had a list started in my head but it would be too easy to just forget or keep putting it off for "someday". But of course "someday" isn't a day of the week.
So in no particular order...(drumroll please)
*Hike a 14er - we do live in Colorado after all
*Speak and understand Korean - I've been learning slowly, but would love to be fluent one day
*Open an Etsy shop...maybe...
*Take a yoga class- Clare that's with you!
*Run a 5k in under 40 minutes-yes 40 minutes, for me that's a lofty goal, I ran my first mile every last summer and couldn't believe I did it, as I always convinced myself I wasn't a runner
*Finish a drawing- I've neglected this gift. Last year I did pick up a pencil and did some drawing but it's remained tucked away in my drawer unfinished for months.
*Photography- I have always been captivated by photos that tell a story or evoke emotion. And at one point in my life pictured myself traveling around the world with National Geographic, taking pictures of amazing events and beautiful sights. While I can't say that's a desire anymore, the desire to capture moments and emotions is something I need to do. I can't describe it any other way.
So maybe I'll add more if I think of it. Maybe not. But there it is...9 months to go.
What goals do you have for this year?
